What to wear to class.
A quick reference for attire by style. Bodysuit colours and shoe types vary by level, so check with your teacher if you're unsure which applies to your dancer.
Ballet
- Pink leather ballet slippers (full sole, no split)
- Pink ballet tights
- Tank-style bodysuit — burgundy (intro through grade 2), navy (grade 3 and up)
- Hair in a bun using elastics, pins, and a hairnet to match hair (no bangs)
Tap
- Black tap oxfords
- Pink ballet tights
- Tank-style bodysuit — burgundy (junior), navy (intermediate and up)
- Black dance shorts optional for intermediate and up
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Jazz
- Black jazz oxfords — full sole (junior), full or split sole (intermediate and up)
- Pink or skin-coloured tights
- Tank-style bodysuit — burgundy (junior), navy (intermediate and up)
- Black dance leggings or shorts optional for intermediate and up
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Lyrical
- Black jazz oxfords for regular class; half-soles required for performances (half-soles fine for class too)
- Pink or skin-coloured tights
- Tank-style bodysuit — burgundy (junior), navy (intermediate and up)
- Black dance leggings or shorts optional for intermediate and up
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Contemporary
- Black jazz oxfords for regular class; half-soles required for performances (half-soles fine for class too)
- Pink or skin-coloured tights
- Tank-style bodysuit — navy (intermediate), black (senior)
- Black dance leggings or shorts optional for intermediate and up
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Hip Hop
- Black sneakers, indoor use only (white details allowed, but must be majority black)
- Black dance pant or sweatpant
- WDS t-shirt or sweatshirt (available through the studio)
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Musical Theatre
- Black jazz oxfords
- Pink or skin-coloured tights
- Tank-style bodysuit — burgundy (junior), navy (intermediate and up)
- Black dance leggings or shorts optional for intermediate and up
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Acrobatics
- Tank-style bodysuit
- Footless tights
- Bare feet
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Parent & Tot
- Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement
- Bare feet or non-slip socks
- Hair tied back off the face

Competitive programs
Competitive attire
Competitive dancers also follow their regular class attire for their required styles. Specific shoes or colours may be required for competitions and will be communicated ahead of time.
Competitive Company
- Black jazz oxfords (some performances may require tan)
- Tan half-soles
- Tank-style bodysuit
- Pink or skin-coloured tights
- Black jazz shorts or leggings allowed for intermediate and up
- Hair in a high ponytail (no bangs)
Competitive Hip Hop Crew
- Black sneakers, indoor use only (small white details allowed)
- A specific shoe style and colour may be required for competitions
- Black dance pant or sweatpant
